Borgo Paradiso is a stone farmhouse dating back to the 1920s. Originally conceived as a structure used as an agricultural shed, it was later expanded and tastefully renovated by the current owner. A rustic house with typical floors with exposed beams and antique terracotta floors, but welcoming and comfortable, completed by a refined annex used as a wellness area and equipped with a large Jacuzzi for 4 people, sauna and solarium. The real jewel in the crown of this property is the park surrounding the villa, a spectacular botanic garden brimming with colors and embellished with hundreds of species of plants and flowers that winds along a real nature path, inside the property, and along the paths in the woods it is surrounded by. Borgo Paradiso enjoys a pleasant hilly and panoramic position on the metal hills. Located in the small village of Ciciano, a few steps from Chiusdino, made famous by the famous circus Abbey of San Galgano, it is in a good position to reach and visit in a short time the famous villages of the province of Siena such as Montalcino, San Gimignano or Chianti, and appreciate their unmistakable artistic and architectural charm. “... it is a vast countryside enlivened by all those beauties that the sublime genius of nature knew how to create. There are mountains that are partly bare and partly verdant, and large valleys full of gushing crowds and deep ditches. There you will encounter tall oak forests and tall ancient oaks; shady and silent chestnut groves; vast natural meadows. Nearby, white farmhouses lost in the countryside, villages and villages; far away, amidst the confusion of rising clouds, rise the towers of Siena and San Gimignano, and Volterra appears confused among the greenery, in a lucid serenity.” (Dina Ferri 1908 — 1930, poet and writer born in Chiusdino). N.b. A small annex within the property is occasionally used, with the utmost confidentiality, by the owner who does not disturb the privacy of the guests or interfere with the areas of the park for their exclusive use.
Interiors:
The house is on the ground floor. The entrance opens directly onto the living area with living room, dining room and built-in kitchen (with wood oven and fireplace) to form a single open space. From here you can access a double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and, through a small hallway with laundry area, to the second double bedroom (with divisible bed) with direct access to the garden and to the bathroom with tub and shower. A few steps from the property there is a small annex that houses a double sofa bed and a small bathroom with a shower. Finally, about 50 m from the house, there is the wooden annex of about 60 square meters in which the wellness area and the gym are equipped, completed by a kitchenette, a shower and a service bathroom. Air conditioning (except annex with gym and spa area).
Park:
Five hectares of land make up the property from which the farmhouse is surrounded and which form the entire village. A well-defined internal path in the wooded areas made passable, allows you to discover the numerous installations arranged with great care to evoke ancient uses and traditions of the past: the parade that collects a collection of old agricultural work tools, a typical sheaf testifying to how straw was once collected to be dried, a chapel (which can be visited on request) and even a charcoal pit, now adapted to a suggestive reading corner. And then many relaxing corners located in strategic places, overlooking the olive grove, such as the terrace surrounded by vines, and the rich orchard (cherries, peaches, figs, nuts, pears), or protected by majestic oaks. A fabulous 3500 square meter botanical garden houses a large collection of plants and flowers, along which soft paths lead to the various equipped areas. For outdoor dining, enjoying this magnificent landscape, there is a panoramic veranda, connected to the house, or a romantic gazebo, lined with roses climbing in front of the large windows of the wellness area. On one side of the veranda, a teak-paved area bordered by a wall covered with rose vines houses a cozy seating area.
Pool:
The infinity pool overlooks the wild landscape with the unmistakable colors typical of the Metalliferous Hills. Located on one side of the property that borders the forest, it is a few meters from the house and can be reached by crossing an internal avenue lined with cypress trees. The tub is rectangular with an irregular side, with a stone edge and sand-colored PVC coating, and is equipped with stone steps for access to the water and internal lighting. It measures 9 x 4.5 m with a constant depth of 1.30 m. All around, a well-kept lawn area is equipped with sun loungers and a cold water shower. A wooden terrace houses a seating area with armchairs and a sofa. The area is completed by a service bathroom/dressing room. Next to the pool, on a centuries-old oak tree, there is a wooden house from whose windows you can admire a wonderful view as far as the eye can see (access is allowed only if accompanied by the owner). The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
