Villa Gabri is set on the rolling hills of Montecarlo that descend towards the Val di Nievole, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves that form a unique and unforgettable harmony with the holiday you will be spending in this area, dedicated to relaxation and the unique fragrances of this land. The villa was an old rural farmhouse that has been transformed by skilful restoration into a prestigious and elegant residence, using the classic materials of Tuscan tradition such as pietra serena (sandstone) from Cardoso, marble from Carrara and the walls treated with wax in vogue in the stately homes of Lucca, creating a unique mix that reaches the peak of elegance inside this villa. Villa Gabri is located 3 km from the medieval borgo of Montecarlo, a little gem set between Lucchesia and the Val di Nievole. Montecarlo is a borgo perched on the summit of a pleasant Tuscan hill which dominates the vineyard-covered slopes which produce one of the most renowned red wines of Tuscany which you can taste in the countless wineries that line the famous wine route. The villa, whit air conditioned in the bedrooms, has three floors with a large living area on the ground floor as well as a bright, well-equipped kitchen including a dining area and two guest bathrooms, one next to the kitchen with a washing machine and one near the main entrance with access from the outside as well so that it can also be used by those in the pool. A large, elegant staircase leads up to the first floor with the sleeping area composed of four elegant bedrooms with ensuite bathroom. Continuing up the staircase to the second floor you come to an open-plan area set up as a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. In adddition to the villa is a level garden surrounded by a green lawn where you can stroll around while enjoying the typical scents of officinal plants, olive trees, flowers and the lemon trees typical of the city of Lucca. In the large area in front of the main entrance to the villa are two living areas shaded by two large umbrellas, one dedicated to the outdoor dining area and the other to an outdoor sitting area. Continuing through the garden you come to the pearl of the property, the enchanting pool with blue mosaic, typical of Roman baths, with a large solarium in teak where you can relax under the shade of umbrellas while sipping a good glass of red wine from the area. From this unique location, a short drive will take you to the renowned Spas of Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme with its famous Grotta Giusti; no less important is the proximity to the A11 motorway exit of Altopascio which will take you to Lucca, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi and Florence as well as to all the other famous tourist destinations in Tuscany. For sports cyclists, the property is located on the road of the Biogiro, a route that touches the most important towns in the province of Lucca and which has been designed by a world-famous Italian cyclist. With the proximity to the town of Collodi, famous for the puppet, Pinocchio, you can take the kids to spend a fun-filled day in the theme park, experiencing and reliving the tale of Pinocchio. NB: The owners live in the two side wings of the villa, however the garden and the pool are for the exclusive use of the guests. It is specified that the owners reside in the two lateral blocks near the central body of the villa and are very discreet and will respect your privacy, but will be at your disposal in case of need.
Interior:
The villa has three floors, with access to the ground floor from different spots. The main entrance is near the exterior living area at the front of the villa and leads into the living area composed of a large living room, with TV corner with sofas and a table for games or study, a large, bright kitchen which includes the dining area, a guest bathroom with washing machine next to the kitchen and a guest bathroom beside the entrance door that can be used by those using the pool. From the living room a large marble staircase goes up to the first floor with the sleeping area composed of four double bedrooms. All four rooms have ensuite bathrooms, two with shower and two with shower and whirlpool tub. Continuing up to the second floor, you come to an open-plan area set up as a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
Park:
Villa Gabri is surrounded by a level, 5000 sq m lawn. Completely fenced and bordered with hedges, it is embellished by multi-coloured fragrant flowers, bushes of herbs, antique terracotta pots with lemon trees and many olive trees, typical of the area. For the kids, there is a ping-pong table near the pool as well as the large lawn which is ideal for outdoor games. Next to the entrance, facing out to the garden, is the dining area with table under the shade of a large umbrella where you can have relaxing breakfasts and lunches, surrounded by the scents of the surrounding vineyards. Next to the dining area is the outdoor living area with mobile BBQ so that you can organise barbecues in good company, in total tranquillity.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The rectangular pool is located at the front of the villa which is 25 m away and reached across the courtyard in front of the main entrance. It measures 7 x 13 m with the depth varying from 1 to 2.40 m and is lined in blue mosaic, typical of Roman baths, with three hydromassage jets, internal lighting and two Roman steps for access to the water. At the guests' disposal, in the teak wood sunbathing area, are comfortable sunbeds shaded by three umbrellas and a hot-water shower and is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
Pets: On request, only small size. € 50,00 per animal per week to be paid on site.
It should be noted that the owners reside in the two side blocks with respect to the central body of the villa, they are very discreet and will respect your privacy, but if you want they will be at your disposal in case of need.
