Cottage Dolcevista is a modern stone house that is the result of restoration work inspired by an eco-sustainable project. Once a 19th century barn, it has been completely rebuilt with the recovery of the original materials, such as Chianti stone and exposed wooden beams, and furnished with various artistic elements linked to the history of the Palio of Siena. Cottage Dolcevista is perched on a hilltop at 600 m above sea level and is fully air-conditioned. Outside, it offers a panoramic view that stretches across the valley to Monte Amiata and Monte Cetona. The Cottage can be considered a pleasant and relaxing place to spend an intimate holiday as a couple or as a family amidst idyliic views typical of the Tuscan valleys. Its geographical location makes it possible to explore and travel between the areas of the Chianti Classico hills: Castelnuovo Berardenga, Gaiole in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. In addition, the Monteluco road leads to the Valdambra along little mountain roads. There is no lack of entertainment: hiking or biking routes indicated in the CAI guide, visits to wine cellars, tastings of Chianti DOCG, or walks along the road to the medieval castles (Brolio, Meleto). The borgo of San Gusmè (6 km) offers services such as the post office and restaurants; for most needs, the reference point is Castelnuovo Berardenga (11 km).
Interior:
The Cottage has two floors connected by an internal staircase. The entrance is reached from the park at the end of a steep descent and up three steps. As soon as you enter, you come to the living area (overlooking the swimming pool) with sofa bed, TV, thermo-fireplace, dining table and a well-equipped kitchenette; The ground floor is completed by a bathroom with shower (without bidet) and a small storage room used as a laundry area. The first floor, reached up the internal staircase (17 steps) and also accessible from the outside (4 steps), consists of the sleeping area with a hallway that opens onto a bathroom with shower and two double bedrooms. Air conditioning in the bedrooms and in the living room.
Park:
The Cottage is located in a property that extends for about two hectares of which approximately 500 sqm form the fully-fenced park (with a two-metre high fence). Around the Cottage, set on a sloping surface, prevails stony ground adorned with flower beds of medicinal plants and succulents. Towards the pool area, based on a sustainable project, singular species of creeping plants have been planted that require dry, sloping soil, thus helping to keep water consumption to a minimum. Areas with ornamental olive trees also alternate. The outdoor dining area, located along the house, is shaded by an umbrella. A few steps away is the fixed barbecue. Access to the property is via a vehicle gate with manual opening; two cars can be parked inside the fencing and one outside. On request, there is an electric charging station. Unique views of the valley and the surrounding woods can be admired from every angle. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The Scandinavian-style, above-ground swimming pool is located in front of the Cottage, about 30 metres from it. The path to the pool area is designed with Chianti stones laid in a "lost steps" pattern on steeply sloping terrain. The octagonal pool, measuring 6.40 x 3.40 m with a constant depth of 1.20 m, is lined in PVC and equipped with internal lighting, chlorine purification and a wooden ladder for access to the water. The solarium area, shaded by oak trees, is equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs and a cold-water shower located at the side of the pool.
